End of Life, a 6-Session Radio Series (Jan 22nd- Mar 7)
Our Sangha member, Ellen Hufschmidt, has been active in producing this Two Harbors, MN community radio program. She is the show’s lead interviewee. People can go to KTWH.ORG to stream live or listen at one’s convenience through the archived interviews. Ellen’s lead show covers heartful spiritual and emotional aspects of facing death. Another show covers the importance of having a health care directive and what a hospice social worker does. There is a show about the physical aspects of dying, breaking down myths with a hospice nurse and Medical Director, along with talk about modern day death doulas. Then comes an engrossing story about a son’s home vigil after his father’s death. Then an enthused advocate for the Green Burial Movement who gives a rousing interview. On the last show, Ellen offers a participatory Blessing to honor our selves and the grief we have for our loved ones. In addition, there are two accompanying zooms on the evenings of Monday, Feb 8 and 22, from 7-8pm. for people to respond, ask questions, or share as it relates to the topic of the series. Everyone is welcome.
