Monday, December 21st: Water and Stars: A Solstice Solidarity Action to Stop Line 3
Monday, December 21st, 6:00-6:45pm
Zoom link here.
Please join us as we come together virtually on December 21st, the Winter Solstice, to offer our practice in support of the larger community effort to oppose the Line 3 oil pipeline. Our participation is at the request of and in solidarity with Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light, Winona LaDuke, Honor the Earth, and Indigenous leaders on the ground resisting the Line 3 oil pipeline. On the darkest night of the year, we will shine the light of our love and commitment to the Earth and to its indigenous peoples through reflection, meditation, and ritual. We hope you can join us from 6-6:45 p.m. on this most auspicious of nights when the planets Saturn and Jupiter come into conjunction for the first time since 1226. Watch it happen in the Southwestern sky right after sunset. Please have a clear glass of water with you for our practice period. Led by Kaia Svien and Jean Haley.
Kaia Svien, M.S. is a meditation instructor, spiritual guide and program designer with more than 25 years of experience providing classes, workshops and private consultation in mindfulness practice focused on building psychological and spiritual resilience in the face of climate change.
