New Mindful Parenting Group Starts April 7th!

Parents and caregivers of children and teens are invited to come as you are as we explore how our mindfulness practice, understanding of the Buddhist teachings, and cultivation of wisdom and compassion are challenged and deepened as parents/caregivers. This group will take place on the first Sunday of the month starting in April at the Common Ground City Center 12:15pm – 1:30pm. The parenting group will follow the Weekly Teacher-Led Practice Group for those who want to attend both.

This 75 minute, in-person group will be co-facilitated by parent/caregiver members of the Common Ground community. The format will begin with a brief meditation period followed by a time for sharing and discussion prompted by a shared point of inquiry.  Babes in arms or laps are welcome during the group.

Childcare will be offered in the community room or the garden.  You are welcome to pack a bag lunch or snack for your child.  We will try to accommodate all children, but ask parents to be flexible if the needs of the children exceed the volunteers capacity for the day.  In the spirit of community, a parent may need to occasionally rotate into helping with the children.  If your child is not bathroom independent, the childcare volunteers will come get you for any bathroom needs.
