Shelly and Gabe Recommend
Good morning everyone,
This week Shelly and I would like to recommend some resources on mindfulness and racial justice:
- This Friday, Feb 5th at 1:30pm central time Pamela Ayo Yetunde will speak at an online UMN event entitled Call and Response: A Womanist Buddhist Vision for Relational Justice Making.
- The Harvard Buddhist Community is organizing a speaker series on Buddhism and Race with monthly speakers from now to August. Larry Yang spoke on January 28th on a “Multicultural History of Dharma and Diversity.” (Video only available until Feb 5th.) There are some excellent speakers coming up, Rhonda Magee in February and Duncan Ryuken Williams in March.
- A recording of a recent conversation between Bhikkhu Analayo & Rhonda Magee: Mindfully Confronting Racism: Buddhism and the Inner Work of Racial Justice
- A scholarly article by Bhikkhu Analayo: Confronting Racism with Mindfulness
