Dear Common Ground Friends,

Open House for our Retreat Center Neighbors in the Prairie Farm, Wisconsin Area
Common Ground is finally hosting a long-delayed open house at our retreat property in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 23 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Our goal is to introduce the retreat center to residents in the neighboring communities. Toward that end we authored an article and invitation that was printed in the October issue of the local paper, the Hay River Review.

We are in need of volunteers to make one or two pans of spinach lasagna for the event. Here is the recipe that we are using. We are not sure how many neighbors might show up but we want to be ready to feed at least 70 people. If interested please let Gabe Keller Flores <gabe@commongroundmeditation.org> know. We have pans that you can pick up at the center and the lasagna can be dropped off frozen or freshly baked on Thursday or Friday, October 21-22nd. If you would like to contribute in this way, please let Gabe <gabe@commongroundmeditation.org> know by this Friday morning, October 14th.

We are also in need of a few dish warmers (such as a sterno warmer). If able to loan one or more please let us know.

Finally, we could 1-2 additional volunteers staying over Thursday – Saturday, October 21-23, to help with the cooking, set-up and serving of the food. Please contact Mark Nunberg at <mark@commongroundmeditation.org> if you want to spend a few days at the retreat center helping out.

Thanks for your consideration, and if you don’t know about our retreat property that the Common Ground community has been developing these past 7-8 years click here:

The Practice of Generosity

Continuing in the tradition of Buddhist monasteries in Southeast Asia, all programs at Common Ground are offered free of charge in the spirit of generosity. This offering is possible because of the generosity of people like you—from the Buddha on down to all the people in our community—who contribute their practice, time, and financial resources to support the continuation of the center.

To learn how to support the center and our teachers, visit this page. Let us know if you have any questions.
