Weekly Email 4-19-23

Dear Common Ground Friends,

We share an Earth Day Invitation from Common Ground Teacher Kaia Svien:

Earth Day 2023 calls us to community to attend to the state of our
beloved blue planet. Weather changes of so many kinds all over the
planet heighten our awareness of the fragility of the environment we
humans have depended upon for eons.

Please join us to create community with others who grieve what is
changing on our beloved planet as we sense our deep love for it.
We’ll draw on many understandings that meditation practice brings
forth, reminding ourselves that we have many resources for going
forward in these times.

– Kaia Svien

  • Office Volunteers: We are looking for one or more people with 1-2 years of experience at the center and with prior office experience to help us with office tasks and bulletin board maintenance. Experience with G-Suite and general comfort with computer technology would be helpful.
  • Website Volunteer: We are hoping to redo our website in the coming months. If you have experience building websites and are interested in helping with this, please write an email of interest to Robin.

Transform Your Hindrances Into Understanding
A wise and skillful person
can turn poison into medicine.
In the same way, a skilled meditator
can transform hindrances into understanding.
