Community News

Antiracism Circle

Starting Monday, January 18th, 29 of Common Ground’s teachers and leaders will be participating in a 10-week antiracism circle at Common Ground. This will involve intensive study of the history and mechanisms of racism both societally and personally, with the intended result of transforming our hearts and minds and educating us on how to act to relieve the suffering caused by racism in our hearts, relationships, and communities. We hope to share what we learn with the wider community, by sharing some of the readings we’re doing, and through conversations and presentations at other community events. If you’d like to support this work, you can make a donation to Common Ground and designate it “antiracism circle”. You can also use the iPad in the lobby to make a donation. For your information, Common Ground’s total expenses for the circle are $9600.

Assistive Listening Devices Now Available for Programs at Common Ground
The Center now has assistive listening devices available for use in the meditation hall.  If you would like to use a device for a program you may help yourself to one in the audio closet or contact the program host, they can assist you or can identify the audio person assigned for the program who knows how they work.

All Common Ground programs are offered free of charge in the spirit of generosity.  There is a donation bowl in the lobby or a button on our Supporting the Center page if you would like to support the center and the teachers.  The center is completely dependent on your gifts.
