Mindfulness in the 12 Steps

After carefully studying what experts from the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health have been writing as well as sifting the information available through other sources, it seems that the wisest and most compassionate response to the coronavirus pandemic is for Common Ground to immediately suspend all programs at the center through March 29th, at which time we will reassess. 

We are taking this big step out of compassion for all. Fortunately, Common Ground has already begun offering some limited live streaming options. We will work to expand the list of programming options available by live stream as capacity for tech support grows. Let us know if you have skills to offer.

CANCELLED through March 29 Weekly Practice Group: Mindfulness, Recovery, and the Twelve Steps

This ongoing program is for those seeking spiritual development by practicing the principles of the Twelve Steps and the Buddha’s teachings in everyday life. This program supplements recovery and is designed to reveal to us that consistent mindfulness practice greatly benefits our spiritual progress.
This ongoing practice group meets every Friday and is open to all who have an interest in mindfulness and the Twelve Steps recovery pathways. No need to register, just come.

CANCELLED Mindfulness and Recovery Retreat with Anita R – January 2020

Sunday, March 15th, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.   *Registration will open soon

These four hours without distractions provide a unique opportunity for self-discovery and seeing, through mindfulness meditation, how we contribute to our own suffering. This retreat is appropriately paced for newcomers and experienced practitioners as well. Activities include sitting and walking meditation (with guidance), yoga, dharma talk, and group sharing time.
