Youth and Family Programs

Common Ground welcomes and strives to support parents, children, and families through specific family programs, a versatile schedule, and a practical approach to living the dharma.

We offer the following age-specific groups throughout the school year during the Sunday morning Weekly Practice Group. See upcoming dates on the right. These groups include age appropriate ways to explore mindfulness through play, discussion, and/or stories. No experience is required.

  • Kindergarten through 3rd grade: This group involves mindful movement, relaxation, songs, stories, and crafts (preschoolers may join but should be accompanied by a caregiver).
  • Preteens/4th through 7th grade: This group explores mindfulness in daily life and emphasizes safety and fun.
  • Teens: This group includes a guided meditation and discussion about how meditation and mindfulness can help reduce stress and bring compassion and wisdom into our lives.

Mindful Parenting Community Group

Common Ground also has a Mindful Parenting Community Group and often offers special programming suited for parents and families; keep an eye on the calendar for events, or join our mailing list.
