Common Ground is a community meditation center dedicated to the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being present with the moment and learning to be at ease with the unfolding conditions of life. With practice, mindfulness reveals deep wisdom, compassion, and freedom.

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, we follow in the spirit of Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California and are part of the greater Insight Meditation movement in the West. Read more about our lineage here.

City Center

Common Ground's home base since 2009, our city center is a beautiful, quiet oasis in the middle of the busy city that offers regular drop-in meditation and yoga offerings, as well as monthly half-day and daylong retreats.

Retreat Center

Just an hour and 15 minutes outside Minneapolis, our retreat center provides a quiet, natural setting to support the calming of the mind and the deepening of insight.

Online

Most of our in-person offerings have a Zoom option. We also have a vast archive of recordings on our YouTube pages and DharmaSeed website.
